Pretty dang funny! Maybe it works?

New way to deal with employee issues? Bob Newhart – Funny Video

Funny Communication Video – Communicating Effectively? Not!

A very funny communication video. The ability to effectively communicate is probably the most critical skill a leader can possess. Do it well, and a leader will gain respect and trust. People will naturally follow. Do it poorly and there are serious consequences.

Teams Celebrate – Why you Must Call a Timeout – Leadership Story

The best teams celebrate! My phone rang and it was a call from the Parks and Recreation Department asking me to coach a fifth grade girls’ basketball team. After some discussion and inquiry, I found out it was a “left over” group of six girls from several schools who already had their “Team” formed.

Many of us put off the most difficult, tedious and “less fun” things to do and spend way too much time on “busy work” instead. One of the biggest culprits of busy work is email. Why spend all day worrying about that difficult call we have to make, instead eat that frog and lift the burden of worrying! Why spend productive hours in the morning answering every bell or notification in our inbox. If you are a new leader here are 5 important tips. Please feel free to share with new leaders you know as well. 1. Recognize that you aren’t alone. Many have gone through exactly the same feelings and concerns that you are having. 2. Keep the end in mind and practice patience. You will have a vision. It is important to remember that nothing is built-in a day. 3. Recognize set backs as learning opportunities. You will have some set backs, it is normal. How you deal with those set backs will define you as a leader. 4. Persevere with confidence and seek help if you need to. As a leader you have the skills to be successful or you wouldn’t be the leader. Trust yourself and your abilities. But if you need help don’t hesitate to ask for it. 5. Keep learning. The best thing you can do for those you lead, is to improve yourself. As a new leader you will have lots of challenges and very little time, but take the time to learn. - See more at: http://www.teamworkandleadership.com/2011/08/advice-for-new-leaders-5-tips.html#sthash.MHTo8UZl.dpuf

You're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say when you lose. ~Lou Holtz This is so true. I remember a football coach of my sons telling me after a game in which he missed a last second field goal at the end of the game, "Kickers get too much credit when things go well and too much of the blame when things go bad." Isn't that true in leadership too? Humbling isn't it?
